For the second time in the last 10 days, Texas baseball has lost a game to Mother Nature.

On Tuesday night, Texas announced that its baseball game against Air Force had been cancelled. Despite rain falling in the Austin area throughout the day, Texas and Air Force had still planned on playing at UFCU Disch-Falk Field at 6:30 p.m. After initially delaying Tuesday’s first pitch for an hour, the game was cancelled.

Less than two weeks ago, Texas had its series finale at Texas A&M cancelled by inclement weather.

Tuesday’s cancellation will cost the Longhorns the third-to-last midweek game on their schedule. Texas and Air Force had played seven times over the previous four seasons with two of those showdowns coming in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

According to Texas, fans who purchased single-game tickets for Tuesday’s game can instead attend an upcoming contest against either Sam Houston or UTSA. Texas is set to host Sam Houston on April 28. UTSA will visit UFCU Disch-Falk Field on May 5.

Ranked fourth in the D1Baseball poll, Texas (30-8) will now turn its attention to this upcoming weekend’s three games at SEC foe Vanderbilt. Meanwhile, Air Force (18-20) will next be in action on Friday when it opens a conference series against San Jose State.
