Richmond native Gene Alley threw out the first pitch at the Flying Squirrels’ new Carmax Park last Friday, and despite being well north of 80, he looked great doing it. As Bill Mazeroski has (justifiably) been so much on our minds this spring, it was a thrill to be able to appreciate the teammate with whom Maz was able to turn over 900 double plays over 10 MLB seasons.
