The Texas Medical Association (TMA) has a new chairman of its board. Dr. John Carlo, who currently works as the CEO of Prism Health, will now be leading one of the most influential groups of medical professionals in the entire state of Texas.
According to reporting from The Texas Scorecard, Prism Health focuses on HIV and transgender “care,” and Dr. Carlo already has a long history of using his position—even inside the TMA—to push leftism across the Texas medical industry.
Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, a Houston-based ENT specialist and noted medical freedom activist, called out the TMA’s leftism, saying: “They are very politically active, despite the fact that they’re a private organization; we do have to keep tabs on what they’re doing.”
She says now that Carlo is at the head of their board, you can expect them to continue pushing things like vaccine mandates—something Carlo is also on record as supporting. “They just had a conference, and one of the resolutions they just passed would allow minors to consent to vaccines without parents,” she said.
Dr. Bowden went on to warn that over the next several years, you’ll have to keep a close eye on the actions of politicians here in the state of Texas who take money from the Texas Medical Association.
