CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Corpus Christi elementary school is asking parents to closely supervise students after dismissal following a recent incident near campus.
Calk Wilson Elementary School sent a letter to families on Tuesday after police said a man killed a cat near the school shortly after dismissal.
The principal urged parents and guardians to ensure children are monitored once they leave campus, especially after 3:10 p.m. release time.
School officials say safety measures remain in place during the day, including a campus resource officer, controlled entry, and locked classrooms.
Families are also encouraged to report any suspicious or concerning activity to school officials or through the district’s tip line.
