A Walmart west of San Antonio has been evacuated after reports of a bomb threat at the store.
Emmanuel Zamora, Uvalde County Constable Precinct 6, shared on Facebook that the Walmart in the 3100 block of East Main Street was evacuated at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, due to a suspicious phone call the store received. Zamora’s post included an image informing residents that this was a “bomb threat investigation.”
“First responders have responded to a threat made by phone,” the Uvalde Police Department wrote in an update at 12:07 p.m. “The store has been evacuated. Responders are currently sweeping the store. There is no active threat to the community at this time.”
“Please avoid the area to allow emergency personnel to work safely and efficiently,” the post read. “We appreciate your cooperation and will provide updates as more information becomes available.”
This is a developing story, and MySA will update as more information is received.
