ARLINGTON, Texas — The Arlington Police Department has released its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting a 12 percent decrease in overall crime compared to the previous year.

The report, according to the Arlington Police Department, marks the fourth consecutive year of declining crime rates, with a notable 14 percent reduction in Crimes Against Persons and an 18 percent decrease in Crimes Against Property. The department also partnered with the University of Texas at Arlington to launch a program involving criminal justice and forensics students in reviewing unsolved homicide cases, providing valuable real-world experience and potential leads for detectives.

In alignment with its strategic plan, the department invested in technology, becoming one of the first law enforcement agencies to receive an FAA waiver for flying drones beyond visual line of sight. This expansion of the Drone as a First Responder program allows certified pilots to provide real-time intelligence to officers during incidents.

“Over the past year, we have made meaningful progress in enhancing the safety and well-being of our community,” said Chief of Police Al Jones. “As we look ahead, I am confident in the future we are building together. We will continue to prioritize collaboration, innovation, and meaningful engagement as we work to create lasting, positive change.”
