Revelers showed up for the first night of the four-night festival despite the damp, rainy weather that forced the cancellations of other Fiesta events this week.Â
Presented by the Conservation Society of San Antonio, NIOSA celebrates the city’s diverse cultural history through food, music and art. NIOSA has been a part of Fiesta since the 1940s, and has grown into one of its most popular events.
NIOSA continues nightly through Friday.
Fiesta, which marks its 135th anniversary this year, is an 11-day party that includes over 100 events benefiting various non-profit organizations. Fiesta was first held in 1891 with a single parade — the Battle of Flowers honoring the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto.
Fiesta 2026 kicked off Thursday and runs through April 26.
