AUSTIN (KXAN) — A McDonald’s is set to arrive near UT Austin, according to a building permit from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The golden arches will replace the Dollar Slice Club at 2300 Guadalupe St., which permanently closed its doors in July of last year. The location was initially announced to be rebranded with Famous Famiglia Pizzeria, an Italian restaurant under the same ownership as Dollar Slice Club.
The owner did not respond to KXAN’s request for comment.

This renovation comes years after the McDonald’s on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard shut down and gave way to The Otis, a Marriott-operated hotel.
