According to the TDLR filings, the estimated $600,000 project will entail renovations to transform the existing bank building into a 4,511-square-foot restaurant and future vacant office space. Construction would begin mid-July and be completed by December.Â
There hasn’t been any formal announcement about Himari opening a second Houston location on its website or social media pages. Chron has reached out to Duckstache Hospitality for more details. We will update this story if and when we hear back.Â
Himari is one of several Japanese concepts in Duckstache Hospitality’s portfolio, including Aiko, Doko, Bar Doko and Handies Douzo to name a few. The first Himari opened in 2023 at the Stomping Grounds, a mixed-use venue in the Garden Oaks/Oak Forest neighborhood along W 34th Street. Compared to its sister concepts, Himari skews a little more casual but still has a delicious variety of maki, nigiri, sashimi and rolls.
Duckstache Hospitality has been growing rapidly over the past year, with new restaurant openings and expansions. Kokoro, one of its concepts, opened a location in Dubai and took no. 15 on the World’s Best 50 rankings for the Middle East & North Africa.
