EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) -An evacuation order and a pre-evacuation warning are in place for a fire burning just north of Hanover late Wednesday afternoon.
The evacuation order was issued by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office just after 6:44 p.m. for Hammer Road east to South Peyton Highway and Myers Road north to Squirrel Creek. Residents in the area are asked to evacuate now.

Deputies say the fire is located near Hammner Road and Hanover Road.
A pre-evacuation warning is also in place for Hammer Road east to South Peyton Road and Squirrel Creek Rd north to Clements. A map of the pre-evacuation warning is shared below.
As of 7 p.m., the Hanover Fire Department estimated the fire to be approximately 4,200 acres.
Crews say air attack, two single-engine air tankers and a type 1 helicopter have been requested.
The Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control said a multi-mission aircraft has been ordered to assist with the fire response.
