CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Fire crews in Corpus Christi are assisting police in shutting down part of Weber Road from Yorktown Blvd after an overnight fire broke in the area.

The closure is along the 7700 block of FM 43, where officials say the road could remain blocked for several hours. 

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes while crews work at the scene.
