Investigators in Houston seized meth hidden in livestock feed during a major drug operation involving multiple agencies and arrests.

HOUSTON — Houston investigators say they uncovered a massive drug operation — including more than 1,000 pounds of livestock feed that tested positive for methamphetamine.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Southeast Texas Region, the two-day operation targeted narcotics trafficking and involved several local, state and federal agencies working together.

What investigators say was seized

According to DPS, investigators recovered a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and related materials:

15 gallons of liquid methamphetamine1,140 pounds of livestock feed that tested positive for methamphetamine137 pounds of liquid methamphetamine5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine finished product4 firearms

Authorities also reported five arrests tied to the operation.

“Following a 2-day operation in Houston, DPS CID – alongside our local and state partners – made a major impact in the fight against dangerous narcotics trafficking,” the agency said in its post.

“This operation is a direct result of outstanding collaboration and together, these partnerships will continue to keep dangerous drugs and weapons off our streets and out of our communities.”
