LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The 12th KidsFish Lubbock is a free event for you and your family. It’s Saturday, April 25th, 2026, from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Mackenzie Park. The event is for those kids who can hold a fishing pole to 17 years old. If your children love fishing, want to get into fishing, or just need another activity outdoors, this is the event for you. Free food will be provided with registration, and the lake will be stocked with channel catfish ready for your family.
The Lubbock Lions Club, founded in 1929, is one of the largest Lions Clubs in North America.
Fishing license fees have been waived for the event and fishing poles and bait are available. There will also be a casting station for beginners to practice and prizes.
Lunch is served at 11:00am for the anglers!
Please dress For the weather and bring chairs, blankets, & sunscreen.
All the fun happens at Mackenzie Park at the Santa Land facility. The lake will be stocked with approximately 800 pounds of Channel Catfish funded by the Texas Game Warden Association.
There will be plenty of opportunities for the children to catch a fish or two!
Parents or Guardians can also fish for free with their kids at this event!
