Madison Capital Group is converting four Texas c-stores to Fresh Stops. | Madison Capital Group Holdings
Real estate investment firm Madison Capital Group is acquiring four convenience stores in Texas that will be converted to Fresh Stop locations, the company announced Monday.
Charlotte, North Carolina-based Madison Capital Group raised about $13.2 million from investors for the acquisitions. All investment opportunities were claimed by investors, and the sellout reflects strong investor confidence that the c-store sector may offer a lower-risk investment with high growth potential, Madison Capital Group said.
“Fresh Stop leverages state-of-the-art technology that diversifies revenue streams, supports high-volume sales and positions the portfolio for stable cash flows and positive returns,” Jeff Kremin, president of Madison Capital Markets, said.
Two of the locations are in San Antonio, one in Corpus Christi and one in Fort Worth. Fresh Stop plans to introduce updated branding, improved layouts and refreshed product assortments at each of the sites, Madison Capital Group said. The company will also evaluate opportunities to add amenities and operational upgrades that streamline and enhance the in-store experience.
Fresh Stop is an affiliate of Madison Capital Group. Fresh Stop opened its first location in Arkansas on March 29, 2025.
CSP has reached out to Madison Capital Group inquiring who the seller is, but has not heard back as of press time.
Fresh Stop changes leadership
Madison Capital Group recently hired a new CEO for Fresh Stop, but has not yet named the person, CSP reported April 3.
“Fresh Stop has identified its next CEO, and we’re excited about the leadership this individual will bring to the company’s continued growth,” Madison Capital Group told CSP. “While we’re not in a position to share details on the appointment just yet, a formal announcement will be forthcoming soon.”
The new CEO is replacing Joe Teague, who held the role of CEO at Links Car Wash and Fresh Stop for about a year, according to Teague’s LinkedIn page. Madison Capital Group also owns Links Car Wash.
More growth
Fresh Stop last year acquired four c-store properties in Texas and Florida from an undisclosed seller, CSP reported in September 2025.
The sites are at 312 TX- 321 East, Trinidad, Texas; 1950 MLK Jr Blvd., Corsicana, Texas; 1961 MLK Jr. Blvd., Corsicana, Texas; and 6950 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach, Florida.
Madison Capital Group on March 17 announced the launch of a fund targeting $200 million in capital commitments from accredited investors and intends to use the proceeds to invest in convenience-store and express car wash assets.
“Convenience stores and express car washes represent compelling essential service businesses with consistent consumer demand, multiple revenue streams and potential tax efficiency,” said Ryan Hanks, CEO of Madison Capital Group. “We believe this strategy aligns with our broader philosophy of identifying real assets in growth markets and structuring opportunities designed to optimize income and after-tax performance for investors.”
Fresh Stop’s website lists 14 locations, two in Arkansas, seven in Florida and five in Texas. There also is one coming soon to Driscoll, Texas.
