Goettl Air Conditioning & Plumbing returns with its 2026 “Kindness in the Air” initiative, a yearlong effort to highlight organizations that uplift, strengthen, and inspire their communities. Each month, Goettl selects a nonprofit whose mission reflects compassion and service, shining a light on the people and programs making a meaningful difference.

Recently, Goettl proudly recognized Edwards Aquifer Conservancy (EAC), a San Antonio-based nonprofit dedicated to stewardship for future generations. Multiple sources note the Edwards Aquifer System provides water to over 2.5 million people across the region. Homes, schools, hospitals, businesses, and neighborhoods in South-Central Texas all depend on it.

The strength of San Antonio and surrounding areas is ultimately measured by how well the region protects the essentials that keep everyday life moving. The EAC’s goals are to “manage, enhance, and protect” the process by which the Edwards Aquifer distributes water to so many. To accomplish this mission, the EAC advances programs and practices that protect habitat and species, promote conservation, sustain agriculture, and support long-term water management solutions across the Edwards region. As you can see, the EAC plays a key role in saving lives in the San Antonio area by supporting all kinds of efforts to maintain the aquifer system.

By protecting the Edwards Aquifer through conservation, research, and education, the Conservancy helps the Edwards Aquifer Authority safeguard a resource that sustains San Antonio every day, perfectly reflecting the spirit of kindness and community care that Goettl is committed to celebrating all year long through its “Kindness in the Air” initiative.

Community members who know of a local nonprofit making a positive impact are encouraged to submit nominations for future Kindness in the Air features here.
