LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Sources confirmed with KCBD that Vice President JD Vance was scheduled to make an appearance at the Texas Tech vs. BYU game next Saturday in Lubbock.

However, Vance will now be staying in Washington, D.C. to attend the National Veterans Day Parade, according to sources. Vance was going to attend the game with Texas Tech Chairman and former Red Raider football player Cody Campbell.

Vance’s trip to Lubbock was rumored in recent days but made known on Tuesday afternoon on X by college football writer Brian Davis.

The military celebration is scheduled to begin from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the National Mall. It features an opening ceremony at the National Archives at 11 a.m.

The parade itself will begin at noon. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT in Lubbock at Jones AT&T Stadium for a pivotal matchup between two top Big 12 Conference teams.
