The much-hyped Michelin Guide ratings served up only scraps for Fort Worth again in the second round of honors for Texas restaurants.

Goldee’s BBQ, a back-road barbecue shack south of Kennedale often ranked in the state’s top 10, was the top Fort Worth-area restaurant recognized.

Goldee’s retained its “Bib Gourmand” recognition for value. The awards were heavily dominated by Houston and San Antonio restaurants again.

Four Fort Worth-area restaurants retained their 2024 honors as “Michelin Recommended” restaurants:

Birreria y Taqueria Cortez, 2220 E. Rosedale St.

Panther City BBQ, 201 E. Hattie St. (on some maps, E. Pennsylvania Ave.).

Smoke’N Ash BBQ, an Ethiopian- and Texas-style barbecue restaurant at 5904 S. Cooper St., Arlington.

Terry Black’s BBQ, 2926 W. Seventh St, judged at its Austin location.

Michelin “Recommended” restaurants are a notch below the “Star” or “Bib” awards.

Chas Martin, an owner of the Chumley House, 3230 Camp Bowie Blvd., was honored for “exceptional cocktails.” But it was for his Mister Charles restaurant in Dallas.

Mister Charles kept its “recommended” rating along with that company’s El Carlos Elegante. But Chumley House did not make the list.

One Dallas restaurant won a coveted Michelin Star. Mamani, 2681 Howell St., was honored for former Vegas chef Christopher De Lellis’ “bistronomie-style menu of elevated simple plates.”

Mamani’s menu includes New Zealand lamb chops, Amish chicken and Australian rib-eye or filet mignon.

Mamani joined 2024 honoree Tatsu, a limited-service restaurant at 3309 Elm St., as the only Michelin Star restaurants in North Texas out of 18 statewide.

The Dallas’ area’s “Bib Gourmand” restaurants are Cattleack Barbecue, Gemma, Lucia, Một Hai Ba, Ngon Vietnamese Kitchen and Nonna.

In the Houston area, 23 restaurants landed or kept “Bib Gourmand” honors.

The “Recommended” restaurants in the Dallas area are Barsotti’s, Crown Block, El Carlos Elegante, Fearing’s, Georgie, Harvest, Knox Bistro, Mercat Bistro, Mister Charles, Monarch, Quarter Acre, Rye, Sachet, Stillwell’s, Stock & Barrel, Sushi Kozy, Tei-An and Written by the Seasons.

In total, 140 Texas restaurants are recognized at the three levels of Michelin honors.
