Motorcyclist airlifted to El Paso hospital after Las Cruces crash dies

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday after a crash in Las Cruces.

According to the Las Cruces Police Department, the crash between a car and a motorcycle happened at around 1:30 p.m., and it temporarily closed Valley Drive at Rigsby Road.

Police said the motorcyclist was critically injured and was airlifted to University Medical Center of El Paso, where they eventually succumbed to their injuries.

The identity of the motorcyclist was not released.

Furthermore, while details about how the crash happened are not available, LCPD said the crash has resulted in Valley Drive being temporarily closed from Avenida de Mesilla to Boutz Road.

Rigsby Road was also closed near the intersection with Valley Drive.
