Taco Bell is bringing its Live Más Café to Dallas, and it’s starting with a well-known site.

A Taco Bell at the corner of Mockingbird Lane and McMillan Avenue in East Dallas has been renovated to include the new drink-focused concept. Live Más Café serves refrescas, an agua fresca-inspired drink; iced and blended coffees; and churro chillers, frozen concoctions with a layer of churro crumbles at the bottom.

After testing Live Más Café in California, Taco Bell stated in a news release it planned to roll out the concept to 30 more stores by fall. Dallas marks the first market for the expansion outside of California. Houston is up next.

The East Dallas Taco Bell at 5506 E Mockingbird Lane, its drive-through a popular late-night haunt of Southern Methodist University students and young adults, has been shuttered temporarily amid the changes. It will continue to operate 24 hours a day upon reopening.

Frozen and blended coffee beverages are part of the lineup at Live Más Café, a concept launching within Taco Bell.

The addition of Live Más Café is part of a larger strategy for Taco Bell as the brand seeks to hit $5 billion in beverage sales by 2030. Taco Bell said the move is “inspired by Gen Z’s love for curated, customizable drinks,” according to a news release. The company is part of Yum Brands, which has a significant presence in North Texas and is behind concepts such as Plano-based Pizza Hut and KFC.

The Live Más Café website already shows two additional addresses in North Texas: 3127 Inwood Road in Dallas and 3321 N Belt Line Road in Irving.

Another fast-food giant, McDonald’s, tested a drink-focused concept called CosMc’s in North Texas. McDonald’s ended up closing all the stand-alone pilot locations, it announced earlier this year.
