Southwest Airlines to fly seasonal route between Dallas and Cleveland.

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is set to bolster its schedule in Northeast Ohio later this year. 

Starting Nov. 21, the airline will begin flying seasonal service between Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and Dallas Love Field Airport, where it is the dominant carrier, the Cleveland airport said. The service will operate until Jan. 3, 2027. 

“We are excited to connect customers in Cleveland with our hometown of Dallas,” Daniel Jones, Southwest’s VP of Network Planning, said in a statement. “Dallas is a world-class destination in its own right, plus we’re connecting our Northeast Ohio customers to our vast domestic network.”

It also helps Southwest boost its presence at Cleveland Hopkins, where it has a relatively small presence. This month, the airline offered more than 900 flights at the airport, according to data from Cirium Diio data. 

“The addition of nonstop service to Dallas Love Field is another major milestone in Cleveland’s air service growth,” Scott C. Carr, Assistant Director of Commercial Business and Revenue for Cleveland’s Department of Port Control, said in a statement. “This new route provides Northeast Ohio travelers with a fast and convenient option to reach Dallas and the North Texas region, while also expanding access to additional one-stop connections across the Southwest network.”
