For more than seven decades, Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas has worked to ensure that access to legal support isn’t out of reach for those who need it most.
Since 1951, the nonprofit organization has provided free civil legal services to individuals and families across North and West Texas, focusing on issues that directly impact everyday stability, from housing and safety to financial security. For many, that support comes at critical moments, offering guidance through complex legal challenges that can otherwise feel overwhelming.
The need for these services continues to be significant. In 2025 alone, Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas assisted more than 58,000 individuals, helping them navigate situations where access to legal support can make a lasting difference. This work serves as a critical bridge that connects people to resources, offers stability and creates a clearer path forward.
This year, as it marks its 75th anniversary, the nonprofit is also looking ahead. This fall, Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas will host its 14th Annual Builders of Justice – McKinney Progressive Dinner Awards, an event that brings together community members and supporters to highlight the impact of civil legal aid and the vital role it plays across the region.
