She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, educator, and friend whose life reflected kindness, faith, and devotion to the people she loved. Lindsay lived with a gentle spirit and a caring heart, and those who knew her will remember the warmth of her smile, the strength of her character, her selflessness, and the grace with which she carried herself through life. Lindsay is the daughter of Janet Velasquez and the late Daniel Pelland. She is survived by her daughters, Juliana Velasquez, Olivia Velasquez, and Victoria Velasquez, who were the great joy of her life and the center of her heart. She is also survived by her brother, Martin Velasquez; her brother, Blain Pelland; and her sister, Danna Pelland. Her family was a source of love and meaning to her, and she cherished the bonds she shared with them. She was a devoted mother who found joy in caring for her children and in building a home filled with love, encouragement, and faith. Lindsay’s love for family extended to fostering two children in her home over the years that needed a safe and loving environment to thrive. Education was one of Lindsay’s many accomplishments, and she pursued it with determination and purpose. Lindsay attended Arlington Heights High School and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in English from Texas Woman’s University in 2011. She later earned a Master of Education from West Texas A&M University in 2015. Her commitment to learning and growth was evident in all she did, and she used her education to make a lasting difference in the lives of students and colleagues. Lindsay believed in the power of knowledge, encouragement, and leadership, and she dedicated herself to helping young people succeed. Lindsay served as the assistant principal of Luella Merrett Elementary School, where she was respected for her professionalism, her steady leadership, and her genuine care for students and staff. Before serving in administration, she taught English at Carter-Riverside High School and Stripling Middle School. In the classroom, she was known for her patience, her encouragement, and her ability to connect with students in meaningful ways. She gave of herself generously in her work, and her influence reached far beyond lesson plans and school walls. She helped shape minds, build confidence, and inspire others to believe in their potential. Outside of her professional life, Lindsay found joy in the simple and beautiful moments of everyday living. She enjoyed camping and being in nature, spending time by the pool or at the beach, and cooking on her Blackstone grill. Lindsay also attended services at Doxology Bible Church, where she found a sense of faith and meaningful fellowship. Those who knew Lindsay will remember her as someone who gave freely of her love and her time. She was thoughtful, dependable, and caring, and she made others feel valued and seen. Her life touched many people, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, her family, her friends, and all those whose lives she influenced through her work as a dedicated educator. Though her time on earth ended far too soon, the love she shared and the example she set will not be forgotten. As her loved ones grieve this sudden and tragic loss, they also give thanks for the gift of her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will endure.
