Plano ISD announced the hiring of Jibran Kelley as Plano High School’s next boys head basketball coach Thursday afternoon.
Kelley, who played college basketball at SMU from 2000-03, had coached at Heritage since 2014.
Plano went 20-12 this past season but missed the playoffs, going 6-10 in District 6-6A. The program hasn’t made the postseason since winning the district during the 2022-23 season.
Recently, Plano ISD’s seen a renewed resurgence in basketball culminating in Plano East’s unbeaten state championship run in 2023-24. Plano West has also now had three consecutive seasons of 20 wins or more.
