One of Texas A&M’s big transfer portal additions a year ago is headed to the NFL.

Defensive tackle Tyler Onyedim was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 66th pick in the third of the 2026 NFL draft.

The Houston area native had a career year for the Aggies last season, tallying bests with 49 total tackles, 9.5 TFLs and 3.5 sacks. He also had one forced fumble for a Texas A&M defense that helped Mike Elko’s team put together an 11-1 regular season to reach the program’s first-ever College Football Playoff.

Onyedim transferred to College Station following four seasons at Iowa State under head coach Matt Campbell. He started his last two seasons with the Cyclones and was a 2023 All-Big 12 Honorable Mention before making the switch to the SEC.

His impactful season with Texas A&M helped him climb draft boards to become a consensus top 10 defensive tackle in the draft. He is the second member of the Aggies defensive line taken in the draft, following former teammate and SEC Defensive Player of the Year Cashius Howell, who was taken in the second round by the Cincinnati Bengals.
