The Dallas Stars apparently have the support of an MLB star and product of D-FW high school baseball.
Kansas City Royals star Bobby Witt Jr., a Colleyville native and an American League MVP finalist in each of his last three seasons, arrived at the Royals’ game against the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday clad in a Dallas Stars victory green jersey.
Specifically, it was a Wyatt Johnston No. 53 jersey. And it paid off: The Royals beat the Angels 6-3 on Friday.
So maybe it’s appropriate he’s donning the Johnston jersey.
Johnston is even younger than Witt at 22 years old, and it’s hard to argue he’s anything but a star player after his stellar 2025-26 season. Fresh off a five year extension late last season, he’s led the league in power play goals in 2025-26, setting a Stars franchise record in the process.
His latest? A tip-in power play goal in double overtime of Game 3 against the Wild on Wednesday, giving the Stars a 2-1 series lead.
Johnston can head into Saturday’s Game 4 knowing he’s got the support of one of baseball’s brightest talents.
