AUSTIN, Texas — Congregation Beth Israel says they are increasing security after finding antisemitic graffiti spray painted on a retaining wall outside the parking lot on Thursday.

The synagogue says they have contacted APD about the incident, who are investigating and closely monitoring the campus.

“The graffiti was close to the road, and not near out buildings,” Congregation Beth Israel said. “All operations are continuing as normal and we do not believe there’s any ongoing threat.”

The synagogue central Austin has seen similar incidents in the past. In 2021, the building was set on fire by a former member of the Texas State Guard, who pleaded guilty to the crime in 2023.
