Midland police say a Saturday morning crash on Loop 250 was actually a shooting, with the victim identified as a member of a violent motorcycle gang.

MIDLAND, Texas — What appeared to be a Saturday morning crash is now a violent shooting investigation in Midland.

According to officials, police were called to the area of West Loop 250 near North Garfield Street around 9 a.m. due to a crash involving a motorcycle.

When officers arrived, a 58-year-old man from El Paso was found with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital for surgery, where he remains in stable, but unknown condition.

During the investigation into the shooting, officials said they learned the man was a member of the Mongol Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.

Traffic was backed up for hours as authorities investigated the scene. No other details are available at this time.
