MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) – The Lady Dawgs swept the Rams to advance in the Class 6A-DI postseason.
Midland welcomed El Paso Montwood to the Boneyard for game one on Friday.
The neck-and-neck battle ended in walk-off fashion. An RBI from Mireya Rodriguez pushed the Lady Dawgs to a 7-6 victory.
Game two was an early one, beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
The morning start didn’t phase the Lady Dawgs. They set the tone with three runs in the first inning.
Marley Porter played a big role in the second matchup. She accounted for three RBIs against the Rams.
Midland took game two in a decisive manner. The Lady Dawgs run-ruled Montwood with an 11-0 final.
MHS improved to 33-3 in the bi-district series. It’s the sixth consecutive first round win for the Lady Dawgs.
Midland will face Byron Nelson in the area round. The times for the three-game series have not been announced.
