SMU gained its second Dallas-area transfer in as many days Saturday.

Codie had maybe the best game of his collegiate career against Gonzaga in the second round of this year’s NCAA tournament, coming off the bench and scoring a season-high 12 points in 26 minutes. SMU head coach Andy Emsfield will be Codie’s third in as many seasons, after he played for Rodney Terry as a freshman and Sean Miller as a sophomore.

The Mustangs continue to rebuild a roster that is losing all five starters from a season ago. Boopie Miller, BJ Edwards, Jaron Pierre Jr. and Corey Washington all graduated and big man Samet Yigitoglu is transferring to Indiana. Codie figures to be a role player early on in the 2026-27 season.
