An ultra-exclusive international hospitality brand is setting its sights on the Texas Hill Country for its next high-profile project, bringing another celebrity-favorite luxury name to one of the state’s fastest-growing destinations.
Aman, the luxury hotel and branded residence group known for its White Lotus-style properties, plans to open its first ranch-style retreat in Texas. The project, called Amansanu — Sanskrit for ‘peaceful peak’ — will be located in the Hill Country, about 90 minutes northwest of Austin. The company, though, has not disclosed the exact location and provided limited information to MySA on Friday, April 24.
The new hotel is just the latest luxury property coming to the region. Last year, Hilton announced it was building a 106-acre Waldorf Astoria resort in Fredericksburg that is expected to open in 2027.
The destination retreat will feature a limited collection of minimum 10-acre, fully serviced Aman-branded residences and a hotel designed by celebrated architect Olson Kundig. This will be the hotel brand’s sixth property in the United States. Its desert-chic Utah escape, Amangiri, is known to attract celebrities like Hailey and Justin Bieber and the Kardashians, according to a Vogue 2020 article.
The magazine has written previously on “stealth-wealth” elite-types who have become such fans of the brand’s intimate retreats and “unassuming, warm hospitality,” that they call themselves “Aman Junkies.”
The news suggests that the hospitality industry is doubling down on the region, with world-renowned brands increasingly positioning themselves in the Lone Star State’s heartland.
The brand says the upcoming hotel and residences will lead a “new generation” of additional projects that will continue to expand its reach in the North American market. It currently has forthcoming projects in Mexico, Beverly Hills and Miami Beach.
It will also offer an “elevated interpretation of the contemporary ranch experience,” with fully serviced stables, horse trails. There will also be several dining concepts, and an expansive Aman Spa and Wellness Center, racquet sports courts and hiking trails.
