A luxury hospitality brand with soon-to-open properties in Beverly Hills, Calif., and Miami Beach, Fla., has identified its next location for a top-of-the-line accommodation: the Texas Hill Country.
Aman Resorts, the Swiss hospitality company with three-dozen luxury properties worldwide, announced last week it will open Amansanu somewhere about 90 minutes northwest of Austin. That would place Amansu somewhere around Llano, or maybe San Saba. There is no timeline yet for the opening of Amansanu, according to Travel Weekly.
“Set within the rolling hills, winding creeks and scultpted canyons of the Texas Hill Country, shaped over millennia, Amansanu, meaning ‘peaceful peak’ in Sanskrit, emerges as a secluded ranch retreat,” reads the description of the destination on Aman Resorts’ website. “The destination will feature a limited collection of fully serviced Aman branded residences, alongside a hotel of standalone pavilions, designed by Olson Kundig.”
Amansanu in the Hill Country “unfolds in quiet dialogue with the surrounding topography, with structures positioned to follow the contours of the land and frame expansive views,” reads Aman’s description. Amansanu will have four- to eight-bedroom homes on 10 acres or more each, and each will have its own pool and outdoor living areas. The resort will include dining venues, a spa and wellness center, and racquet sports courts and hiking trails.
Aman was founded by Adrian Zecha in 1988. Its first luxury resort opened that year in Phuket, Thailand. Since, resorts have opened in France, Indonesia, the Philippines, Italy and China. Aman made its U.S. debut in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in 1998 and followed that up with locations in New York and Lake Powell, Utah. A Miami Beach property is coming this year, and a Beverly Hills location will debut in 2027.
The company is known for a high quality of service, structures that coexist fluidly within the architecture and the landscape of their locations, private outdoor areas and plenty of dining options.
