Keller drivers will experience continued road detours for Mt. Gilead Road east of US 377 for a new water line connection across the road.
The gist
Mt. Gilead Road’s westbound lane will be closed from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. April 28, Rachel Reynolds, the city’s communication and public engagement manager, said. She said flaggers will be onsite to direct drivers.
The road previously experienced closures along its westbound lane April 17 and April 20, according to a city social media post.
The new water line connection is needed for a housing project under construction at the Summit at Center Stage mixed-use development, Reynolds said.
The background
Keller City Council approved the water line replacements at a city council meeting Oct. 21. Roughly $1.6 million of the $3.18 million approved will be used for Mt. Gilead Road, while the other funds were used for roadwork along Pate Orr Road South, according to the city’s Public Works department.
