LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Police are investigating a road rage incident that left one person with serious injuries Tuesday afternoon in west Lubbock.

Just after 12:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired. However, it was later determined a road rage incident led up to a physical fight near 66th and Upland Ave.

Police say 20-year-old Ashton Gonzales and 18-year-old Anthony Martinez, Jr., both suffered lacerations.

Martinez was driven to the Circle K at 66th Street and Milwaukee where 911 was called.

Martinez was being treated at Covenant for his injuries and was later released. He was then arrested and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He’s held on a $25,000 bond.
