A surprise celebrity sighting turned an ordinary spring day into a full-blown campus spectacle at the University of Texas at Austin — and students are still buzzing about it.
On April 24, reality TV personality Rob Rausch made an unannounced appearance alongside better-for-you snack brand SkinnyDipped, delivering a high-energy takeover that blended star power, social buzz and sweet treats.
Dressed in laid-back Western style, Rausch cruised through campus in a fully branded SkinnyDipped pickup truck, instantly drawing attention. Within minutes, crowds of students gathered, phones in hand, eager to snap selfies and see what the buzz was about. The activation featured a Western-inspired setup complete with a vintage truck and an Airstream snack hub, creating a festival-like atmosphere in the middle of campus.

Students began lining up early in the morning, with lines eventually wrapping around the block as word spread about the surprise appearance. Those who waited were rewarded with more than just a celebrity sighting — attendees scored free samples of SkinnyDipped favorites like Dark Chocolate Coconut Bites and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, along with branded giveaways including tote bags and trucker hats.
The excitement didn’t stop at the main event. Rausch brought the experience directly into student life, making surprise visits to several sorority houses including Kappa Alpha Theta, Chi Omega and Kappa Kappa Gamma. There, he personally delivered snacks and spent time with members, creating intimate, memorable moments that quickly spread across social media.

The Austin activation follows another headline-making moment for SkinnyDipped during Miami Music Week, where the brand hosted a “Sunset Session” with model Brooks Nader. Together, these events highlight the brand’s growing focus on culture-driven experiences and unexpected celebrity partnerships to connect with younger audiences.
If this latest campus takeover is any indication, SkinnyDipped’s strategy is working — combining influencer appeal, immersive experiences and shareable moments to create the kind of buzz that can’t be manufactured online alone.
