FORT WORTH – DFW product DJ Thomas signed with TCU after playing his freshman season at West Virginia.

Thomas is a 6-9 forward from Allen, Texas who played in all 35 games last season for the Mountaineers. He averaged 6.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per game while shooting 49.5 percent for WVU, which won its last three games to capture the College Basketball Crown.

Thomas, who played 16.9 minutes per game, reached 20 points twice, including a season-best 25 points against Lafayette on Nov. 17 when he shot 11-of-17 from the field. He also scored 20 points in the semifinals of The Crown vs. Creighton on April 4.

At Allen High School, Thomas was ranked by numerous scouting services as a top 25 recruit in the state of Texas and as one of the top 75 forwards in the nation. As a senior, he averaged 10.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists to earn UIL 6A All-Region honors. Thomas helped Allen to the Class 6A Division I semifinals. He also led Allen to The Throne National Championship game, scoring 25 points in the final game and was named to The Throne All-Tournament Team.

Thomas will join recent signees Ryan Hunt, Gavin Sykes, Trent Lincoln and Miloš Šojić as newcomers for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
