I-10 widening west closures

Phase 1

Monday, April 27 – Saturday, May 2 (As Needed)

Daily, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Nightly, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m.

I-10 east and westbound between Vinton and Resler alternate lane closuresNorth and South Desert between Vinton and Resler alternate lane closures

Phase 2

Saturday, April 25 – Monday, April 27 (48 HR Closure)

3 a.m. to 3 a.m.

I-10 eastbound full closure between Anthony, New Mexico and Los Mochis

Detour:

All I-10 Eastbound traffic to exit on Exit 162, Turn Right on O’Hara Rd, Turn Left on Anthony Dr. Proceed to South Main St and Doniphan Dr towards Vinton Rd, Turn Left on Vinton Rd. Turn Right on South Desert Blvd. Continue South Desert Blvd to enter I-10 Eastbound after Los Mochis Dr.

Crews will be conducting a main lane traffic switch.

Saturday, May 16 – Monday, May 18 (48-HR Closure)

3 a.m. – 3 a.m.

I-10 westbound at Los Mochis full closure.

Detour: Traffic will exit at Los Mochis, proceed on North Desert, through the intersections at Vinton and Anthony, and enter I-10 westbound after Anthony.

Crews will be working on a westbound traffic switch.

On-Going Continuous Closures

Sunday, April 26 – Saturday, May 2

Full U-turn underpass at Bridge C between Anthony and Vinton closed

Detour

Traffic on North Desert will need to proceed to Anthony, TX and utilize U-turn BridgeTraffic on South Desert will need to proceed to Vinton, TX and utilize U-turn Bridge

Crews will be conducting Bridge Demolition and Bridge Construction on U-turns under I-10 at Bridge

South Desert between Valley Chile and Vinton Steel left lane closed

Detour

Traffic will be kept in one lane, with access to entrance ramp at Valley Chile, then continue in one lane of traffic until past Bridge D at Vinton Steel

Crews will be conducting work on Walls 13 & 14

North and South Desert at the Los Mochis intersection left lane closed

Crews will be working on Los Mochis intersection.

Detour:

Traffic will continue along South/North Desert, through Thorn intersection, and enter I-10 before Mesa.

Crews will be completing construction on ornamental fences and landscaping at Thorn.

I-10 westbound exit Ramp 10 (Redd) full closure

Detour:

Traffic to exit to Mesa Street, proceed on North Desert, through Mesa and Thorn intersections

Crews will be completing construction on ornamental fences and landscaping at Thorn.

Artcraft Project

South Desert between Transmountain and Artcraft full closure

Traffic in the local community of Campus Park will have access. Crews will be preparing roadway for girder set.

Wednesday, April 29 – Friday, May 1

9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

I-10 westbound on-ramp before Artcraft closed

Crews will be placing column rebar and formwork.

Borderland Expressway Phase 2 Project

Crews will be working on installing permanent drainage structures for Martin Luther King (FM-3255) new road configuration.

Sergeant Major Bridge Reconstruction Project

Continuous closure until December 2026

Purple Heart Highway (Loop 375) north- and southbound Sargent Major Exit Ramps closed

Crews will be working on ramp widening and shared use path extension.

I-10 Hudspeth Safety Rest Area

Continuous closure until December 2026

I-10 east- and westbound shoulder closure between Fort Hancock and McNary

Crews will be working on utility installation.

Median Concrete Barrier Project

Continuous closure until further notice

Montana Avenue (US 62/180) east and westbound complete left lane closure between RM 124 and RM 126 (Guadalupe Peak)

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in work areas.

Closure is necessary for installation of median concrete barrier.

RM 652 Full Widening Project

Continuous closure until further notice

RM 652 westbound lanes reduced to one lane two-way traffic from FM 3541 to Kimble Draw Bridge

Closure is necessary for the reconstruction of the roadway.

RM 652 Full Depth Rehabilitation Project

Continuous closure until further notice

RM 652 east and westbound alternating lane closure 8.36 miles east of FM 3541 to Reeves County Line

Continuous two-way traffic, one-lane work zone requiring traffic to be alternating onto one lane and controlled by Temporary Traffic Signals with a 13-foot lane width restriction.

Closure is necessary for the construction of new roadway consisting of full depth rehabilitation
