Escaped monkeys not in Jasper County, Texas but Jasper County, Mississippi

Jasper County, Mississippi — Sheriff Chuck Havard assures residents there are no missing monkeys reported in Jasper County, Texas.

However, according to media reports, there was an incident yesterday in Jasper County, Mississippi where several monkeys escaped captivity after the vehicle in which they were being transported was involved in a crash.

Any questions about the missing monkeys should be directed to the Jasper County, Mississippi Sheriff’s Office, says Havard.

“Ya’ll stand down!” he posted on the Sheriff’s Office (Jasper County, Texas) Facebook page.
