Humble ISD music teacher Daniel Stallworth is coming home after finishing in the top seven on American Idol.
Stallworth was eliminated from the singing competition when the judges narrowed the competition down to five.
Stallworth went bold with in his last round with his renditions of Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” and “Best Part” by H.E.R. and Daniel Caesar but didn’t make the final five.
The Mississippi-born music teacher and musician had wowed the judges with his audition, accompanying himself on piano for an acoustic version of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
And American Idol judge Lionel Ritchie praised the music teacher when he brought out his take on the singer-songwriter’s 1983 hit, “All Night Long.”
Stallworth, who is listed as a music teacher in River Pines Elementary School‘s staff directory, appeared grateful for his American Idol opportunity with a Facebook post message to his followers: “He’s not done with me yet!!!!!! Thank you @americanidol.”
