LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Lubbock City Council unanimously approved the initial design for renovations at the civic center.
City staffers sought public input on the idea earlier this month.
Architects presented their work to the council, including a 60,000-square-foot expansion and 2,400 new parking spaces.
Funding for the proposal will partially come from the hotel occupancy tax and private funding. It will not come out of the public’s pocket.
Council will take a final vote on the idea next month.
