ARLINGTON — Dallas Wings guard Azzi Fudd threw out the first pitch at a Washington Nationals game last summer, about a half hour from her Fairfax, Va., hometown, and left it short of home plate.
Tuesday, in her new home city, she threw a strike.
“This pitch was definitely better,” Fudd said. “I didn’t hit the ground, so improvement.”
“The stadium was beautiful,” Fudd said. “I was shocked to see it was indoors.”
She’ll try to find time for more Dallas-area firsts along the way.
“If my dad is watching this, I don’t claim saying this, but I do want to go to a Cowboys game,” Fudd said. “I do hear a lot about the Stockyards. I heard about some water park I need to go to, and a lot of food places, but I’m open to all recommendations.”
