WIMBERLEY, Texas — The shelter-in-place has was lifted for residents in Wimberley Wednesday morning after a search for an armed suspect connected to a vehicle theft, according to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 5 a.m. to the Woodcreek North subdivision for reports of a motor vehicle theft.
One person was taken into custody, but the sheriff’s office initially said one suspect remained at large, prompting the shelter-in-place order.

“We have one suspect in custody. A firearm has been recovered,” the sheriff’s office said. “We have no evidence that there are any more suspects in the area.”
Residents can safely resume daily activities, city officials said.
