NBC 5, Telemundo 39, and Stage West Theatre invite you to experience 30 plays, scenes, and monologues at the 19th Annual Festival of the Kid. The plays are all written by young playwrights, ages 8-18, who will leave an indelible mark with their fascinating stories, performed on stage by local students. The festival runs from Saturday, May 2, to Sunday, May 3, at the Russell Theatre at Stage West in Fort Worth.
Programming for the festival will be divided into two time slots each day. The 30-minute Youth Show takes place at 2:00 p.m. with plays written by and starring elementary students. The 90-minute Teen Show takes place at 5:00 p.m. with plays written by and starring high school students. The Teen Show has a PG-13 rating. Programming is the same for both days.
The works included in the Festival were all chosen from Stage West’s 2025 Neighborhood Play Contest. Contests like these, and Stage West’s generous grant funding, gives Stage West the resources to aid and nurture young playwrights. To learn more about the Festival of the Kid, click HERE.
