The local chain Shady’s Burgers & Brewhaha continues its expansion in North Texas with the opening of two new restaurants: one at Hidden Cove Marina, on the shores of Lake Lewisville, and another in the North Dallas area.

The restaurant located at Lake Lewisville will be the first of the two to open, just in time for the lake season in North Texas. The grand opening will be on May 1.

The new Shady’s at Hidden Cove Marina is located at 20400 Hackberry Creek Park Road in Frisco.

This restaurant joins the other two already in operation, in Richardson and Lake Highlands. The fourth restaurant will be located at 7124 N. Campbell Road in North Dallas, and is set to open in the fall of 2026.

Shady’s Burgers & Brewhaha was founded in 2013 by friends Greg Cooney, Don Bouvier, Anthony Bolner, Dave Swiney, and Steve Gumbert in Richardson. Since then, they opened a new location in Lake Highlands and later launched The Fifth bistro in 2019.

Over time, the concept evolved and became part of the High Five Hospitality portfolio, a group that also operates other restaurants and catering services in the region.

The project at Hidden Cove Marina was carried out in collaboration with Suntex Marinas, one of the leading marina operators in the United States. Hidden Cove Marina, on Lake Lewisville, is one of the region’s busiest destinations.

“Lake season is a very special time in North Texas, and opening at Hidden Cove Marina gives us the opportunity to be part of that experience,” said Cooney, managing partner of High Five Hospitality, in a statement.

Shady’s Burgers in Hidden Cove Marina will offer a menu featuring burgers, tacos, wraps and salads, as well as a full bar with frozen drinks and cocktails, beer and live music on weekends.

The restaurant will be open to the general public, not just marina users.
