Arnel Pineda, the current frontman for Journey, made a mysterious post on social media, alluding to things ending and a “new chapter.”

Pineda’s post began with an apology to “everyone who’s attempted to reach out and secure an interview w/ me over the yearsme being aloof wasn’t intentional nor a disrespect, it’s just that, there’s nothing to tell much.”

He then referred to taking over as the band’s lead singer from Steve Perry in 2007, saying, “ONE OF THE GREATEST OPPORTUNITIES in my life used #NealSchon [Journey’s co-founder] to make me a part of a LEGACY that’s touched millions of lives all over America and around the world.”

Pineda admitted “and as scared as i am from the start ‘til now (believe it or not) I did what’s asked of me to do on behalf of the band’s LEGACY” adding there have been “lots of mishaps, stumblings, shameful moments, gigantic self-doubt, imperfections, and before we all knew it, 18 and a half years has passedso that’s all there is.”

He thanked fans and haters alike for their support and feedback over the years, as well as saying the “story will go on.”

Pineda asked people to “respect to my privacy as i navigate a new chapter in my life that’s still kinda scary coz for me, it’s unknown and won’t reveal much of what I’m expecting it to be.”

Journey is currently on their Final Frontier farewell tour, which is set to conclude on July 2 in Laredo Texas, though there are more shows expected in 2027.
