Over 3,000 people are without power after thunderstorms hit the San Antonio region on Monday, May 1. A CPS Energy outage map showed 3,887 customers are currently without power due to 49 active outages across the city at the time of publishing.
As of 6:22 a.m., customers are dealing with power outages in areas around San Antonio. CPS Energy wrote on X around 5:53 a.m. that it was experiencing the largest outages in the 78209, 78237 and 78240 zip codes.
“CPS Energy teams are continuing to safely restore power to customers who remain without service,” CPS Energy wrote on X. “Flooded roads and hazardous conditions may impact crews’ ability to access certain areas, and restoration times may be extended as a result.”
San Antonio is under a Flash Flood Warning until 10 a.m. As a result, CPS Energy’s customer walk-in centers will delay opening until 10 a.m.
