Austin breweries earned four medals, including two golds, at the 2026 World Beer Cup, one of the beer industry’s largest international competitions.
Pinthouse Brewing and the Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. each brought home top honors, while Zilker Brewing Co. also landed on the winners list, adding to Austin’s presence at an event self-described as one of the most prestigious contests in beer and cider.
Among the Austin winners, Pinthouse Brewing received a gold medal for Fully Adrift in the Imperial India Pale Ale category. The brewery also earned a bronze medal for Hecho En Szechuan in the Herb and Spice Beer category.
The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co. won gold for BEE-ginning in the Honey Beer category.
Zilker Brewing Co. earned silver for Bolo Season in the Juicy or Hazy India Pale Ale category.
Founded in 1996, the World Beer Cup is organized by the Brewers Association and held in conjunction with the Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America. The competition awards beers and ciders across more than 100 style categories, with judges selecting medalists only when entries meet the standards of excellence for a given style rather than automatically naming winners in every category.
The World Beer Cup says its judging process is intended to serve as a form of peer review within the industry, while also helping consumers identify beers that exemplify their styles at a high level.
