Trader Joe’s is slated for a new spot in North Texas.
Mansfield — located south of Arlington — is set to get the popular grocer’s store, according to a statement from the company. Trader Joe’s didn’t provide a timeline.
The location is set for 3020 Matlock Road, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Trader Joe’s, competing with names such as Aldi, Sprouts Farmers Market and H-E-B, is expanding its reach in North Texas as it taps into the growth of the region. The company is close to opening a second store in McKinney and is planning for another in Frisco.
Mansfield has seen growth. It had about 81,000 people in July 2024, up from about 73,000 in April 2020, according to the U.S. Census. It was at about 56,000 in 2010.
Trader Joe’s has built a devoted following with its smaller-footprint stores that have an ever-evolving lineup of items. That can include everything from goat cheese and stuffed peppers to garlic butter nut mix and tote bags.
