It’s time for Austin-area voters to cast their ballots in the municipal elections.
Voters will decide on a slew of local contests, including who will serve as mayor in Bee Cave and Cedar Park, as well as races for the Eanes Independent School District Board of Trustees, Hays Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees and Lake Travis Independent School District Board of Trustees.

When is Election Day in Austin?
Election Day is Saturday, May 2.

Polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
What do I need to vote?
If you have a form of acceptable photo ID, you’ll need to present it when you vote in person. This includes:

Texas driver’s license
Texas election ID certificate
Texas personal ID card
Texas handgun license
U.S. military ID card with photo
U.S. citizenship certificate with photo
U.S. passport (book or card)
The state IDs must be issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Any expired forms cannot be expired beyond four years for voters ages 18 to 69. Individuals 70 and older are allowed to bring photo IDs that have been expired for any amount of time, as long as all other information is valid.
What if I don’t have an acceptable form of ID?
Those who are unable to present one of the forms of ID listed above may fill out a Reasonable Impediment Declaration at the polls and present an alternative form of ID. Alternative forms of ID include the following, whether they are originals or copies:

Government document that shows the voter’s name and an address, including a voter registration certificate
Current utility bill
Bank statement
Government check
Paycheck
Either (a) a certified domestic (from a U.S. state or territory) birth certificate or (b) a document confirming birth admissible in a court of law that establishes the voter’s identity (which may include a foreign birth document).
What are we voting for today in Austin?
Residents of Bee Cave, Cedar Park, Elgin, Round Rock, West Lake Hills, Briarcliff, Webberville and more have a series of local contests on the ballot.

Bee Cave voters will elect a mayor — between candidates Kara King and Elaina Fowler — and two city council members at-large. Both candidates for the two council positions are running uncontested. The council candidates are Andrea Willott and Kit Crumbley.
Cedar Park voters will elect a mayor and city council members and decide on a series of propositions.
Jim Penniman-Morin and Dean Doscher are running for mayor. For Council Place 4, the candidates are Michael Endres and Kevin O’Bryan; Council Place 6 candidates include Randy Strader and Shweta Padmanbha.

The 15 Cedar Park propositions — which include items like wording changes to the city charter, limits on appointed city officials to hold other offices, and payment to city council members and the mayor — can be found on the sample ballot.
Elgin voters will elect a mayor at-large and city council members.
The mayoral candidates include Charles “Chuck” Swain, Roland G. Silva and Wes Callais. The candidates for City Council Member Ward 3 are Agatha Christi Mayfield and Al Rodriguez.

Round Rock voters will elect a mayor and two city council members at-large. Both candidates for the two council positions are running uncontested. They will also decide on two propositions.
The candidates for Round Rock mayor include Kelly Hall and Craig Morgan; the uncontested council candidates include Michelle Ly and Frank Ortega for places 1 and 4, respectively.
Proposition A would allow the installation of 12 privately owned and operated electronic billboards on private property adjacent to I-35 and SH 45. Proposition B would require the city’s fire department to implement new minimum staffing levels and performance objectives.

West Lake Hills voters will re-elect Mayor James Vaughan, who is running uncontested, and city council members. One of the city council candidates — Julia Webber, for Place 4 — is running uncontested. For Place 2, the candidates are David Kaufman and Margaret Moore.
Briarcliff voters will vote for an alderman, who essentially serves as a city council member. They can choose up to three of the eight candidates on the ballot.

Webberville voters will elect a mayor — between candidates Hector Gonzales and Angela Tidwell — and two commissioners. The two commissioner candidates are running uncontested for Place 1 (Ronnie Tidwell) and Place 2 (Heath Stewart).

Voters will choose among several candidates who will serve on the Eanes ISD Board of Trustees, Hays Consolidated ISD Board of Trustees and Lake Travis ISD Board of Trustees.

Some voters will also cast their ballots in a series of MUD, or municipal utility district, contests.
The Anderson Mill Limited District Board of Directors candidates are:

The Ensenadas Municipal Utility District will vote on eight propositions, as well as up to five candidates for district director.

Voters in two Pilot Knob MUDs — No. 1 and No. 4 — will vote on a series of propositions, which are outlined on the sample ballot.

Voters will cast their ballots for up to two candidates for director of Ranch at Cypress Creek MUD No. 1 — Stephan Zaparolli, James E. Perrone and Patrice Coles.
The ballot also includes four candidates for Travis County MUD No. 15 director, of which voters can choose up to three. The candidates include David Alley, Clay Banner, Aaron Laughlin and Devorah Jakubowsky.
Travis County MUD No. 27 has five propositions on the ballot.
