The first combination Applebee’s and IHOP location opened in Seguin back in February 2025, and since then, a few others have cropped up in the San Antonio area. Another dual concept is headed to a different side of town, expanding options along one of San Antonio’s busiest streets.

A new project details page was filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Monday, April 27, revealing that the IHOP location at 2634 SW Military Drive will soon join forces with Applebee’s to widen the menu at the San Antonio restaurant. One building will house both concepts, so customers can order IHOP breakfast or boneless wings from Applebee’s in the same place.

The detail page for the renovation said that construction to turn the longtime pancake house’s Military Drive location into a combination Applebee’s/IHOP will begin on July 2 with an estimated completion date of February 22, 2027. The estimated cost to complete the work is estimated around $400,000. However, details on construction filings are subject to change without notice.

To date, there are at least four combination Applebee’s and IHOP locations across San Antonio, including spots off Broadway, Marbach, I-10 and 1604 near Stone Oak. The two restaurant concepts work in tandem at these locations to serve a combined slate of dishes and beverages, including the bar options that Applebee’s is known for. MySA visited one of these locations in 2025 and learned that the decor also shares elements from both restaurants.
