ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) – Permian won two straight games against El Paso Pebble Hills to extended the Panther season.
The Spartans put Permian in a hole when they won the first game 2-1. If the Panthers wanted a trip to the area round, they would need to win its games on Friday and Saturday.
Permian struggled for the first six innings of game two and it looked like the year was over. However, a pair of runs in the seventh saved the Panthers and forced a game three on Saturday.
The early morning battle started much differently than the first two games.
Unlike those contests, Permian got its bats hot out of the gate. First inning RBIs from Cruz Gallardo and Nico Brito put the Panthers in front.
That lead stuck until the final out. Permian won game three 7-5 and secured its place in the Class 6A-DI Area Round.
This is the second straight bi-district title for the Panthers.
Permian improved to 17-18 with the victory.
The Panthers will play Keller in the next round.
